The Danitrio GK-1040 "Dragon and Koi Ascension" was made by the renowned Maki-e Master Tatsuya Todo. The piece was inspired by the ancient tale of the Koi who swam upstream of the Yellow River in China.

Many koi refused to leap from the river's depths into the waterfall at the end of the road. The gods recognized the Koi, who finally reached the top of the waterfall. They rewarded it for its determination by being turned into a Golden Dragon.
